This special Kobe edition of the AF1 takes inspiration from one of the many shoes Kobe wore throughout the 2002-2003 season. More specifically, during his sneaker free agency after he bought himself out of his previous contract and before officially signing with Nike. The original that he wore on court was a mid version of the AF1 that celebrated Kobe’s career with Los Angeles, featuring Varsity Maize and Varsity Purple accents. We kept the AF1's crisp leather overlays, Air cushioning and signature round toe design. Plus, with layered Swoosh logos and a matching Varsity Maize outsole, this legendary low-top comes drenched in Mamba DNA—Kobe’s Sheath logo and number are stitched on the heel, while the debossed Sheath logo on the outer heel elevates the finish.
